DECO Clay Craft Academy was founded in 1981 by Kazuko Miyai. Her daughter Yukiko Miyai opened her own studio in 1998, bringing the craft to Honolulu, Hawaii. There are now over 3,000 instructors of this craft in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United States, and more are being trained every day.

Our Classes
Alantida school offer clay craft classes for designing colorful life-like flowers, accessories and
endless other decorative pieces.
Member classes are taught with our proven curriculum system complete with original course textbooks. Each course is designed to teach specific techniques allowing students of all skill levels to easily design beautiful creations. Each rewarding curriculum consists of ten projects filled with dynamic techniques for success in the art of DECO clay crafting.
This course is intended to provide the most required base techniques of DECO Clay Crafting and sets the foundation for all following courses. Flower Course I will cover many traditional floral varieties including roses, daises, daffodils, plumeria, hibiscus, gardenia, sunflowers, poppy, anemone, peony, stephanotis, orchids, tiare, as well as leaves and more.
Other techniques covered are color mixing principles, embroidery, weaving and arranging. Students are
  also offered lessons on creating figurines and seasonal ornamentals allowing for a well rounded skill sets.
Available to all levels, no prior experience required.
Flower Course II offers a more in-depth study into floral work and arrangement of more advanced finished pieces. In this course students will apply the techniques learned in Flower Course I while taking them to the next level.  Each project is more elaborate than the next and allows for the student to put their own unique signature to each project piece. The final two projects in this course are a collection of all the skills learned and allow you to showcase this with the final Tall Vase and Theme projects.
DECO Instructor Certification is available to those who have successfully completed the first two Flower Courses. The Tall Vase and Theme project along with three sample roses will be used in the application process to become a certified DECO instructor.
Completion of Flower Course Curriculum I required
If you have a passion for tropical flowers like we do then you are sure to love this course which is designed around all the beauty found in warm tropical places. This course is designed to allow first-timers and experienced clay crafters the rewarding experience of creating beautiful tropical blooms like an expert from the very first class. In this course you will learn to sculpt many varieties including flowers in various themes including leis and finished table arrangements. The following is a sample of the types of flowers taught in this course: plumeria, hibiscus, gardenia, pikake, pakalana, antherium and so many more.
Available to all levels, no prior experience required.

I offer introductory as well as membership classes. In the introductory classes, I teach one project during a two-hour session. The cost is $50CAD. The cost includes the class fee + all the necessary materials. This lesson will study you to make three flowers arrangement (gardenia, plumeria, hibiscus).Also I have another class $25CAD (1 flower) it takes 1-1.5 hour. If you are new to clay-craft, this class is a perfect place to start. The membership classes are series of highly structured flower-making curriculum classes. Each of the curriculum includes ten projects.  You can enroll in one of the basic courses: Curriculum I or Tropical Flowers I. I'd recommend taking Curriculum I since it includes projects with a huge variety of flowers. The membership classes are two hours each, $40CAD + cost of materials. The supplies and tools will be around $150CAD for the entire curriculum course (you won't need to buy them all at once). Also, there is a membership enrollment fee of $50US (to be paid prior to starting membership classes) and certification fee of $50US (to be paid upon course completion). I teach these classes at my place, on Saturdays or Sundays. Before you make a decision ,you can visit my place and I will explain everything.
